Harajuku kids originate from Harajuku, were every Sunday the people who follow this subculture meet on the Jingu Bridge that connects to the Meiji shrine area.
This subculture covers a variety of different dress codes; no two people look the same all as extrinsic as the next. There seems to be a complete freedom of what and how you dress no one is judged and if anything they all ‘compete’ against each other for who can be the most crazy!!
Many fashion ideas have come from this area where designers have been inspired by what they see on the streets and taken them back to the drawing board.
The most popular time for this subculture was in the 1990s however it is still around day with youths taking on board new subcultures and interoperating them their own way.
